Anisio Correia brings to the GA-AER Board a rich and extensive experience in the field of vision rehabilitation spanning a period of thirty plus years. Anisio began his career as a Rehabilitation Teacher, providing both center-based and itinerant services. Since then, Anisio has held numerous senior and executive management positions for small and larger nonprofit organizations. Throughout his long career, Anisio has dedicated himself to increasing the scope and quality of services for people who are blind and visually impaired both in the U.S. and Overseas and changing public attitudes about vision loss. Currently, Anisio is the VP for Programs at the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta, where he supervises all CVI services for children and adults; manages and nurtures funding relationships with United Way, state and federal grants and contracts and identifies new funding sources; seeks new opportunities to serve clients and the community and advocates for the needs of blind and visually impaired children and adults.
